ABOUT THE WORK

Across time, people have crafted ways of understanding and measuring time through observation, myth, and shared systems. This public art commission for the sports hall façade reflects on how we find orientation and meaning, drawing on the movement of the sky as a way of navigating both physically and mentally.

The installation consists of two parts. Curved steel Steel lines with hand-blown glass spheres are mounted across the façades, forming constellations that emerge appear more clearly as light falls. Three circular forms in copper and aluminum reference clocks without hands, suggesting other ways of understanding time.

The materials reflect the idea of time: glass, formed from sand, carries a sense of deep time, while the surface of copper slowly changes surface as it ages. Together with aluminum and steel, these materials introduce processes of transformation and weathering in contrast they create a contrast to the building’s fixed structure.
